WEEKEND CITY GUIDE TO BARCELONA

My favourite thing about Barcelona is the diversity, it really does have a little bit of everything. Stunning beaches, interesting culture and amazing architecture, sounds pretty perfect to me! You can't go wrong with a trip to Barcelona whatever the occasion

Where to stay

Hotel Barcelona Universal

Average price per night is £150

This hotel is in a great location if you're up for sight seeing and exploring, with the main street of Las Ramblas just 650 yards away. It offers free wifi and a rooftop pool with great city views.

Catalonia Eixample 1864

Average price per night £165

This hotel is located in the Eixample district of Barcelona. This area of Barcelona is a great choice for you if you enjoy architecture, shopping and good food! It also has a rooftop pool and bar area, which is a must in those summer months.

What to do

See a FC Barcelona football game

Spain is a football country and if you're a football fan you'll want to do yourself a favour and head to a game at Camp Nou, one of the worlds most famous football stadiums.

Visit the Sagrada Familia

This a famous unfinished large roman catholic church designed, like much of the other architecture in Barcelona, by Antoni Gaudi. It was worth a visit just to appreciate the sheer size of it!

Spend a few hours at Barceloneta Beach

A trip to Barcelona wouldn't be complete without a trip to the beach, right? It's a great spot to relax, people watch or join in with the beach games.

Where to Eat

Enoteca

A double Michelin star restaurant, only try here if you're willing to splash the cash! It serves contemporary Mediterranean food based upon fresh food. Beware it gets booked out very quickly so that's something to keep in mind.

Bar Celta

A traditional tapas bar, the bright and noisy bar celta has been in industry over 40 years and loved by all. It particularly specialises in dishes from Galicia. Although standard tapas such as patatas brava is served too.

Overall, Barcelona is a great place to visit all year round with a mild climate and plenty to do and see.
